I was never truly a child.

Maybe I always knew that there was something wrong with me. Something I could never simply put into words.

Because being born with a mark was not a blessing nor was it a gift. It was a curse, one that complimented who and what we already were. Our abilities could be our future, but they could also be our demise.

Because I knew that one day the light might burn so bright that I would have no more darkness to keep me safe.
