Mheetu: Scar's Heir, the Firstborn Son (A Reign of Darkness: Part 1)

Nala thought that nearly dying in the elephant graveyard with Simba was the worst thing that could happen to her. She had no idea how wrong she was.
Less than a moon after Mufasa rescued Nala and Simba from the hyenas in the elephant graveyard, Mufasa is now dead. He gave his life in an attempt to save Simba, who was caught in a stampede. Alas, his efforts were for nothing, and now both he and Simba are dead. Just days ago, Nala and Simba were disgusted by the idea that they were betrothed together. Now, a life with Simba is nothing more than a dream. Nala is devastated. What's almost worse is the fact that Scar, the new king, has brought into the Pridelands the hyenas who almost killed her once before. No one is safe anymore. No one.

Mheetu is Scar's Heir, and soon his training begins. From an early age, he is taught how to fight and kill. His mother and sister desperately try to encourage the kindness and gentleness inside him, but his father and Zira don't allow him to show any kind of weakness. Part of Mheetu longs to be close to his sister again like he used to be, but his desire to please Scar is stronger. He is committed to becoming the greatest king he can be, to following in his father's pawsteps.
