He has also admitted his feelings for his childhood friend, Zatanna Zatara. And they have entered a relationship, which has strengthened over the last five years. Now, Nick and the new Team will have to face an alien invasion, as well as the Light, who still have plans for Nick.

Two years have passed since the Reach were defeated by The Team. Nick Russell, known as the hero, Red Wizard, as well as the New God, Phoenix, is now engaged to Zatanna Zatara.
