The story started after Sizhui and Jin Ling travelled to the past together with Lan Xian.
When they went back to their original time, the memories the two shared to their past self has been gone due to the tune that Sizhui from the future have played. The tune of Huiyi was a curse for humans that only deities and their disciples can play. The tune was mostly played when one travelled to the past but don't want to make changes.
What are the memories they acquired once the memories of the people they met in the future has been gone? Are there really no changes made after the tune of Huiyi was played? How did those images from Future Jin Ling's memories happened? How did it affect him that made the Jin Ling he is in the future?
