Inspired by the events of HSM2, summer is over and it's a new school year for the Wildcats. Sharpay hasn't forgotten Troy's one act of kindness at the country club but has accepted he's not going to leave Gabriella so she decides to do the healthy and mature thing: focus on graduation and her dreams to have a musical career.
Unfortunately for Sharpay and the gang, there are forces at work that mean no one is going to move on or graduate from East High as easily as they thought...
In true HSM-style, their final year will be filled with romance and music but there will also be a whole lot of growing pains...
