Newcomer to Tamla Motown, Tammy Montgomery, received a name change from the label's founder, himself, and reinvented herself as 'Tammi Terrell,' an ambitious and alluring young singer who's just wrapping her head around being taken seriously.

Tammi released a few songs but achieved lackluster success in the eyes of Berry Gordy, leading him into a new territory for Tammi's Motown career, duets - with none other than the Prince of Motown himself, Marvin Gaye.
