This is a story based off of My Chemical Romances' album "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge". I made it for a contest back in November of 2020, I just thought it had a place here. It's a short story of about 1000 words. Feedback is appreciated! Thank you and enjoy the story :)

Because who doesn't love a revenge era Frerard? It's 2004 and My Chem are on tour. It should be a happy time, and yet Gerard finds himself spiralling, caught in a toxic relationship and even more toxic addictions. The only people that can seem to get through to him at all are his bandmates, but that's becoming complicated too, as he's accidentally fallen in love with one of them. Disclaimer/warning - this story deals with alcohol and substance abuse. I don't want to romanticise it at all - if anything, this is about how love doesn't automatically fix these issues.Complete

If you haven't heard of My Chemical Romance, then that's PERFECTLY okay. Not too many people really care about a small band from Belleville New Jersey. Trust me NO ONE cares about them. But I do because they are only barely 2 years older than me and I go to the exact same high school they did. Now as everything's falling apart and I have to move to California and in with my Aunt Helena in the middle of my senior year, I just hope I've got enough MCR to help get me through. My friends all wish me luck and say, "Oh Allison. Allie. It'll be just fine. You'll be fine. California's fun, lots of new experiences, and ALL that sun. The beach, the bands, the BOYS, and I think MCR lives out there now. In fact they do. So you COULD like maybe hook up with one of them. But of course if that WERE to ACTUALLY happen I'd have to stop being your friend. But California will be fun. I'll miss you sure. But it'll be fun. Good Luck!" Firstly a mysterious, morbid string of murders occured in Frank's town, just metres from his house. The victims were mutilated, slits cut along their bodies. The area fell into panic, the press labelling the serial killer as 'America's Ripper'. The second crazy thing was less of a thing, and more of a person. Gerard Way. An abnormally charming, strangly confident outcast that made it his duty to befriend Frank. But Frank has never met anyone like Gerard, and he starts to fall for him. Together, the two of them must face the menace that haunts the neighborhood, and find out if their relationship will break or hold strong. Frank's parents died over a year ago which has caused him to spiral into a big heat of depression. He's angry, tired, and doesn't care. Gerard is tired of seeing his friend like this, so he hires him an at-home therapist. She's happy, sweet, and very optimistic. It's basically an odd couple situation. ~no I am not romanticizing depression, I am trying very hard not to do that, Frank just happens to be depressed, she won't be "curing him" with kisses or whatever, that's unrealistic, she's there to help him through this :) With that being said, if any of you guys need someone to talk to, I'm here.
