Because in the end you're still a Stark. After a freak accident that sent you into a coma for nine months you became something else, you had become a speedster. That made the other overrule Tony to you joining the team. This is the short version, a longer is being written TW self harm, suicidal, mentioning of the former, close contact, strong language.
