Althea Woods is twelve years old. She's a totally normal kid. She struggles with homework, crushes, and bullies.
Oh, and she's also the famous superhero Elemental. (But shh- not even her best friend of seven years knows that!)
The new girl at school seems normal, but she rubs Althea the wrong way for some reason. Is it because she speaks, dresses, and acts as if she's from the mid-1900s? Or because of her bright blue eyes that seem to almost glow?

Then a boy steps out from the crowd, standing between me and the office. He looks to be the same age as me and has startling golden hair hanging limply over a tan face. I couldn't tell yet what he was but I guessed a werewolf because he wasn't completely repulsive. It is also completely obvious that he is the bad boy of the school. He smirks at me. "Now who do we have here?" He says in a deep voice. Unfortunately for him, I am completely player proof. I don't know whether it's just me or what I am, but I never fall for bad boys. I roll my eyes,"I don't see how it's any business of yours" I say placing a hand on my hip. He grins at me,"feisty! I like it. But still, I believe you are trespassing". "Actually, I'm a student and I have to sign in so if you don't mind" I say starting to walk past him. But he sticks his thick, muscular arm in front of me so that I run straight into it. His forearm digs into my collar bone and I slowly turn my head to him and growl. "Move" I growl at him. I pushed him with as much force as I could, which made him stumble slightly, but he succeeded in maintaining his balance and escaped falling. That was when I got a chance to see his face. ONC entry for 2024. Prompt 49: Being a superhero is just too boring. Let's be a villain! 15-years-old Marissa Everstar makes a Faustian bargain to receive superpowers, in the hope they will make her famous. But when being a superhero turns out to mainly involve boring work that does not get her the immediate popularity she craves, she shifts gears and becomes a villain. Trigger warning: contains descriptions of physical and emotional abuse, blood and gore. Excerpt from chapter 2: I carefully begin pouring the white powder onto the floor, drawing a large pentagram. I spend a lot of time on the intricate details, making sure everything is perfect. The summoning circle quite small, but it will have to do. I clap my hands twice and hear a soul-crushing scream that appears to pierce my body to its core. Hearing the sound fills my stomach with butterflies and gives me a fuzzy feeling. I haven't heard a single sound in almost a year. Following the scream, a shadowy figure emerges. He appears deep black, littered with stars, as if a human-like shape has been carved out of the universe, but also strangely transparent, as if made of glass. His long arms end in clawed fingers, and his ears and horns are goat-like in appearance. On his back are two bat-like wings. He speaks in a deep voice-the only one I've heard in a long time. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else.
