Behind the Innocent Smile
Emma Chase. She may seem as a normal high school girl with a fiery spirit. Always smiling and laughing to jokes told by her friends. But was it real? Was the smile real and not fake, the laughs true and not forced. We don't know. Nobody does. Emma is so used to hiding her emotions and putting on a facade that in her old school everyone thought her facade was the real her. She had to live up to the standards her facade made and live in the lie that was "Chase". Back then she was reckless, daring and wild to the point where it got out of hand. Opening Up
Eva returns home from camp and faces the truth of what she did. Along the way, she faces her abusive ex-boyfriend and proves how strong she is. She learns of all the horrible things he's done to others and finds out that by speaking up, she will help in the court case; in doing so, she meets so many other people who have been influenced by the actions of her ex-boyfriend and how she has a vast community around her supporting her now. Once she finishes high school and moves away, she builds a new community with those same people. She learns to not allow her past to define her identity.Complete

Jules is forced to live a life in the psychiatric ward after her eating disorder nearly ends up taking her life. Stuck in a life that is contained within four walls, while she fights her battle with an eating disorder and depression, trying to gain control of the demanding voice in her head. Finally having to admit that she can't do it herself and faces vulnerability by doing so. She endures love and heartbreak but only she can save herself. I have always been the invisible one. No one knows I am there. I try to fit in with everyone, but the students end up ignoring me. When I speak, no words escape my mouth. I have always known that there was another part of me, that wants to shine, but is too scared to show her face. It is as if we have been hiding behind the same mask and no one sees us. We put on a different mask to try to be like everyone else, but we're really covering up our true personality. As if I am a nerd, that everyone can just walk all over. However, I am not that type of person. It is as if, the only way you would be able to get attention, is if you become a "bad boy," or you wear clothes that show too much skin. I am not like that; I do not know how to act "bad". I have always been a good girl and I do not know how to dress like that. I mean I do have some type of fashion sense. When I say I'm a good girl I mean that I am one of those good girls who gets what she want most of the time, but doesn't talk to her parents about her social life, or when she gets a new boyfriend. I keep to myself and they keep to themselves. I mean they still talk to me when they think I need something, and they respect my privacy. I just do not know what to do with my life anymore. I have hidden and gotten ignored, from the world a little too long. I bet if I just disappeared right now, that no one would even know I am gone, let alone miss me. This life of invisibility has to stop. * * * * * * Living a life of invisibility isn't always a good thing. Everyone needs a little attention every now-and-then. So why can't Khalia Bright get a break from her schoolmates? She does everything right, doesn't she? Every Tuesday and Thursday, Maddie goes to group therapy, where she shares her feelings. Every week it's the same thing, until Maddie gets a new lab partner: Zach Williams, every girl's dream date.
