'What really went down back there on that boat?' - Arthur Morgan

In May of 1899, Dutch Van Der Linde leads his gang into a ferry robbery on the port of Blackwater, West Elizabeth. Aboard the Horizon, soon-to-be mother Heidi McCourt waits for the ferry to dock to reunite with her husband Stanley so they may begin their new life in Great Plains.

Based on the 2010 Rockstar Games western 'Red Dead Redemption' and the 2018 prequel 'Red Dead Redemption 2', the Blackwater Massacre is an infamous moment in the Red Dead series history. It is a catalyst for much of the events in the first and second Redemption games. This story uses characters from the series to explore what may have happened on that fateful day.

This story contains potential spoilers for 'Red Dead Redemption 1' & '2'. It is advised you play both games before reading this. This is all purely speculation based on incomplete in-game accounts.
