Once upon a time there was a girl living in a fairytale world. Then one day, like a rug being yanked out from underneath her feet, the curtains hiding her from reality were ripped open. So the girl ran away. She spent years lost, wandering around in a forest of despair and hatred when suddenly a prince appeared with the promise of happiness and love if only she would come back to his castle as his princess. But the girl was tricked. For the prince was not a prince, rather a monster in disguise. And his castle was not filled with happiness and love, only misery. When her fairy godmothers helped her escape from the monster's dungeon she grew and learned to be strong on her own. She vowed she would never fall for another's tricks again.

But fate had other plans for her.

Right before the kiss can deepen he stops and pulls his lips away from mine. Breathless and confused, I look into his eyes. He looks troubled and nervous.

"I can't.. I can't take this any further without you knowing exactly who I am." He takes a deep breath before he continues. "I'm a werewolf, and you're my soulmate."

"Ha. Ha. Very funny." I can't believe he'd be messing around now of all times.

"I wouldn't joke around about something as serious as this."

"I think you've been reading too many fantasy novels, Colton."

"You don't believe me? I'll prove it to you then."
