Set a couple of decades into the future, the Libitina coroporation is a neurotechnological company, and the biggest of its kind. Located in Tokyo Japan, its main goal is to complete the link between man and machine. Recently they've released their first ever neurolink video game: Doki Doki Literature Club. A fully immersive anime-esque visual novel, utilizing the full potential of their technology. The game was released for free allowing anyone to play. This gets the attention of Martin Charon, an introverted american teen who can't get around with girls. After downloading the game, he is dissapointed to find it not working, but any attempts to delete it is futile. This all changes when he falls asleep and is transported into the world of Doki Doki Literature Club, soon getting attached to the characters. Sayori: his childhood best friend, Natsuki: a fiesty but cute girl, Yuri: an elegant maiden of mystery, and Monika: the club president. He wakes up the next morning in the real world, feeling confident and satisfied. All is going well...
but something isn't right.

As the direct vessel of the player, he gains knowledge beyond that of even Monika. Enough to reset the world more thoroughly than Monika ever could. But at what cost? At his own cost of course. - "What if I never joined the club?" MC now holds, the pain of all the Dokis on himself, no longer bound to the player, how long can he hold on before everything collapses? What if MC was the one that was depressed, something that has appeared in other stories, but I felt like going a little more extreme, not sure if it has been done before. Some characters, like Sayori, may be slightly OOC, since she doesn't have depression here. CHAPTER 2: Yuri comes to terms with what she did to MC, what he did for her, and how she blames herself for the burden the boy forced himself to carry for her and the others, all while struggling to accept that it is too late for her. Just a DDLC fanfic with nothing but my own perception of certain things. In the end, I just do this for fun. A little something you should know: this story is not based on the idea of everything being just a game, so everyone is as normal as possible, with their problems and all. It may be obvious, but none of the following characters belong to me: Yuu (the protagonist), Sayori, Natsuki, Yuri, Monika. Even so, the main character could be considered as my own when talking about personality since I completely changed it. But in any case, the credits for the main characters and the background concept go completely to Team Salvato/Dan Salvato. Also, credit to @XCpTE in Twitter for the original image of the cover. I'd like to have my own, but I'm not an artist to that degree, and I'm not planning on monetizing this story. If I do someday, which I doubt, I will change the cover.
