London England in 1670 was hard on women. It mattered little of birth status when it came to women being unmarried and without a family. For those unfortunate many who were left unwed upon the death of their father; money, title, and possessions were not passed down to their poor daughters. Left penniless and without a title to their names, they were left at the mercy of whoever took over their fathers' estates.

My name is Christa Bracage and this is the true story of how I became.

Violent Delights (Violent Delights Book 1)

22 parts Complete

In January 1328 fourteen year old Philippa sets sail for England, where her arranged marriage to the young King Edward awaits her. Philippa finds England a hotbed of political intrigue, with Edward's father dead under mysterious circumstances, and his mother eager to take control of the throne. Scheming nobles, a vicious dowager queen, loyal servants, jousts, and psychological warfare ensues. Can Philippa navigate her way through the mess of English politics while forging a relationship with her new husband? Based on the fascinating true story. Trigger/Content warning: this is primarily YA, however, due to the fact that the teenage characters are married there is extended discussion regarding the fact that the characters are expected to have sex. Nothing graphic or particularly steamy on page, but true to reality the teenage characters are in fact married. Some brief violence. Some brief profanity. Some psychological discussions regarding family relationships.
