Jason Smith lived a normal life in a quiet suburb of Birmingham, AL. He went to the movies with his friends and even had a few love interest in his past three years of high school. Everything about him was ordinary, but he had a secret. Jason had a secret he could not let pass his lips. For if the humans knew it, they would kill him and his family. Jason was a werewolf. His family belonged to the most powerful pack of southeastern Alabama, the black dawns. Named after the jet black fur and eyes of Triston Smith, pack alpha and Jason's father. Ever since he was a pup, Jason was taught to fear humans. The human's fear of the wolf, had led to the near extinction of the werewolf and their decent into myth. Centuries of hiding had only further cemented the belief that all humans were evil. Jason himself believed the delusion of his species, that is until he met Christian Moore, the human that changed his mind.

The pack never expected him to return and they never expected him to come back as a changed man, a man they would fear. But would the person he wants to protect also fear him?
