Jason Smith lived a normal life in a quiet suburb of Birmingham, AL. He went to the movies with his friends and even had a few love interest in his past three years of high school. Everything about him was ordinary, but he had a secret. Jason had a secret he could not let pass his lips. For if the humans knew it, they would kill him and his family. Jason was a werewolf. His family belonged to the most powerful pack of southeastern Alabama, the black dawns. Named after the jet black fur and eyes of Triston Smith, pack alpha and Jason's father. Ever since he was a pup, Jason was taught to fear humans. The human's fear of the wolf, had led to the near extinction of the werewolf and their decent into myth. Centuries of hiding had only further cemented the belief that all humans were evil. Jason himself believed the delusion of his species, that is until he met Christian Moore, the human that changed his mind.

He was seen as a failure, an Alpha wolf unable to protect his family from a regular rogue was nothing more than pathetic, weak and useless. His parents rejected him, he spend years being bullied and tortured by the pack that was his so called family. The pack alpha was sick of having such a weak and useless wolf in his pack which left him exiled. Years of being alone in the wild have made him bitter, but Jason didn't give up on his life. He swore he would go back to his old pack. Better, faster, stronger. He would let nothing stop him from going back to his old pack and take revenge, become the alpha and protect the one person who always stood next to him. The pack never expected him to return and they never expected him to come back as a changed man, a man they would fear. But would the person he wants to protect also fear him? I put the camera down for a moment, throwing on a type of bullet proof vest over my body and clipping the straps closed. I felt stiff, a bit squeezed and feeling a little heavy but I could manage. I'll be in there for only a minute, then I'll be out and I can leave! I'm almost done, just... a few more pictures! I clicked the button and stepped inside. I- A scream burst through my throat and erupted from my mouth with a huge amount of force, my eyes widening and tears forming as I stared at containers upon containers that stretched tall, attached to their ceiling. All of them were empty, the only thing around was red. Most likely, blood. It was splattered everywhere, on the containers, on the floor, on the walls. I felt it dripping onto the back of my neck from the ceiling, the cold liquid trickling down my neck. I shivered. W-What's going on...?? My mind was everywhere, I couldn't think! I was lost, I was scared, I didn't know where to go! I heard clicking sounds, scratching sounds that came from the back of the room. Though, for some reason I didn't run away. I felt scared out of my mind, yet I didn't react. Something felt like it was pulling me closer to it, like a magnetic force. I felt myself walking towards it. Closer and closer till I stopped at a tank that wasn't empty. And I stared upon someone who was inside the container. --- Zachary is just average, nothing about him that could ever appease others. He's just a face in the crowd, nobody important. He may seem average, but he has a secret, one that everyone knows except for him. Warning: This book contains mental issues such as depression, schizophrenia, and others. If you're sensitive to that kind of thing, then you should probably think twice before reading this. Of course, if you want to read it and you're sensitive, I'm not stopping you. This book only touches upon the subjects; It doesn't go deep into suicide attempts and voices. Remember despite the hate these mental illnesses receive, I believe you. Mental illnesses are no joke, they're not something I try to use for views. I am not hating on the illnesses. I know it's hard, but they are relevant to the book so I had to include them. If you're feeling depressed, please talk to a counsellor. It was hard hating someone so much you start to obsess over them. Then again, it really was a small line between love and hate. Charlie: I shouldn't have been there.
