#1 rule of detectives: Don't fall in love with a suspect

Amid civil unrest and unusual dust storms, twenty volunteer aid workers have disappeared in the slums of a mining colony on the planet of Simoom, including the long lost lover of Security Officer Vestra Gwir. Torn by guilt and heartbreak, Vestra vows to find the truth and bring the culprits to justice. But her world is upended and her beliefs undone when she's put in charge of interrogating terrorist suspect Ann Harmony.

Ann's fragile appearance belies a steely interior. Day after day she provides only cryptic answers, and warnings about a red dust that seems to have a mind of its own. In a battle of wills, Vestra has met her match in Ann, and little by little as Ann tells her story, Vestra begins to realize guilt and innocence is not easy to define.

Inextricably entangled now, Vestra must unravel the truth behind the disappearances not only to avenge her old love, but to save her new love. If only the dust would stop swirling.

The city never sleeps. Its veins are steel, its breath recycled, its heartbeat a hum beneath the polished floors. Every corridor, every vent, every flickering screen is watched. Every citizen is measured. Every choice recorded. Lyra Vale knows this. She has always known. And yet, nothing prepared her for the day the city shifted beneath her feet. The day the Test began. The day she learned that her life-and the life of everyone she loves-was not hers to hold, but theirs to calculate. She wakes before the chime, before the turbines thrumming through the sectors. Her sleep is fractured, haunted by light and sound, by voices she shouldn't hear and images she shouldn't see. But even in her dreams, she knows the truth: in this city, potential defines worth, and defiance defines death. Outside, the city hums. Surveillance drones drift silently, lights glinting on steel surfaces. Screens flicker with promises, threats, propaganda: Obedience ensures safety. Defiance ensures extinction. Lyra's heart beats faster. She knows the system, its calculations, its rules-and she knows its one flaw: humans. Humans do not always follow patterns. Humans do not always obey. She does not yet know that she is about to become the anomaly the city cannot process, the variable the Architect cannot contain. That the Test is only the beginning. That the system is watching, and it has begun to speak. And when it does, Lyra will learn that survival is more than following rules-it is learning to fight a machine designed to predict every thought, every fear, every heartbeat. Because in Sector Nine, everything is measured. Except the human heart.

❖ Interstellar pilot and ex-adventurer Alex Gallegos must keep their team safe on an icy moon as sentient storms threaten to repeat the tragedy that ended their last career. ❖ Everyone in the United Inhabited Solar Systems (for some reason, UIS for short) knows to stay away from Mahaha. The icy moon is notorious for failed probe landings and research missions that end in tragedy: the only people to ever venture to its surface needed rescuing after just two weeks. When a prestigious research group decides they want a turn, they ask Alex Gallegos to lead the team. Perfectly qualified and haunted by their past, Alex accepts, hoping to make up for old mistakes and get just a little further from the earth they've left behind. Two months into the seven-month mission, the team is struggling with discontent, damaged equipment, and blizzards acting less and less like normal weather. As Mahaha moves out of range of help and the storms take on a more malicious character, Alex must face the one foe they could never have prepared for. Mahaha may or may not be alive. ❖❖❖ Complete. 20 parts Complete

By 2422, humankind has achieved an ecotopian climate-positive future. There's zero conflict and zero waste throughout the whole world. But, when a young girl starts having mysterious visions of a walled city, it might signal the ancient return of something threatening this ideal. Can humans escape their nature, or will they return to their old patterns and behaviours? Zee, a quiet and industrious young girl, begins to have vivid dreams and visions of a walled city and a mysterious red book when she turns fifteen. She embarks on a dangerous training programme, meeting other teenagers from around the planet, navigating deep sea trenches, black holes, and a new romance whilst trying to uncover an ancient mystery surrounding quantum entanglement. Will she solve it to save her pet squid and the planet? When millions of Earth's populations left four hundred years ago seeking a new planet to colonise, it paved the way for Earth to stabilise and thrive. But what happened to those people? Why has there been no contact? Are the visions sent from the ancient humans who left planet Earth? Zee quickly learns that her newfound independence is not without its challenges. Some of which might not be from this planet.
