A short story about true friendship and love. 
Evangeline the daughter of a French Duke, has always lived the high life. Her mother died when she was young. Before she died she left Evangeline a magical wishing flower with the power to grant one wish. But she had everything she could ever want, so she saved the wish. Evangeline was waited on by the many servants her whole life. Her childhood best friend is Tobias an African boy, who was taken as  a child to be a slave in Evangeline's house. Their friendship is always strong, but when Tobias is forced to enlist in the army for war, he must leave Evangeline just when he was falling in love with her.  Slaves can't marry the daughter of the Duke. And what happens when she is betrothed to another while he is at war?
