When a labor shortage hits a corporate-sponsored colony, the powers-that-be are forced to resort to "non-traditional" ways of filling the job market-namely, splicing machine parts with reanimated dead colonists. These formerly-dead-or Remnants, as Corporate likes to call them-work very hard for zero pay, all in the hopes that they might one day be able to finally rest in peace.

Detective Constable Two-Zero-Six is one of these working stiffs. Their second-life is nothing if not monotonous, investigating the same kinds of petty crimes that they handled in their first-life. That is, until a Remnant is brutally slain, and the human police pawn the case off on Two-Zero-Six because, well, the Remnant wasn't "technically" alive. Now, charged with solving what no one is sure actually counts as a murder, Two-Zero-Six must track down the killer all while navigating what it means to be human...again.

Y/N, the last surviving Phaser Drone, formerly known as D/N, stuck on Copper-09... a planet that's one bad decision away from full-blown apocalypse. Once a loyal servant to JC Jenson's experiment to maintain the Worker Drones while they mine the resources of the planet, Y/N now deals with an identity crisis as his memories are a mess. He's haunted by fragments of the past, including an odd connection to his creator, who also shares his name. Existential dread? Check. Y/N's world is a chaotic mess. Worker Drones are doing their thing, Disassembly Drones are, well, disassembling, and the Absolute Solver, an AI with a flair for sarcasm, is pulling everyone's strings... His old companion, D/N, is now a brooding mess, adopting Y/N's name in grief, and flashbacks of violent moments and forgotten relationships constantly flood his mind. ...Yet he rolls with it, cracking jokes and getting through ridiculous situations, all while wondering if he's the hero or a just a random drone. All have secrets and all intend to hide them, some break their creators, and some devour them. The nations mourn the years of countless bloodshed and a new ailing world hindering progress. All of them so interlaced and so ever tragic the corporations hold their power, wealth and a lake of lies so they can sleep and breathe easy. But Octane wasn't innocent, nor without their lies and their pasts. Far from the earth near Neptune a ship or a drifting hall of metal and people strays across the inky black world known as space. Alongside the ship also known as Blackwater, a massive ship housing many labs and secrets, those being too many to count, yet Octane had one they would never know of until it was ready, bio clones and mechanical bio clones, human and machine-like human slaves to serve Octane. A cycle once ended now started up again with human-like machines and humans unknowing of freedom until the secrets bleed out and the station and its people are murdered by beastly mutant clones writhing in pain and too far gone to restore. Yosten and Soraka have been on the ship for five years since the fall of Blackwater and they still struggle to survive and deal with the gnawing question of morality and identity. Time is ticking down with the corporation realising what needs to be done but the desperate survivors don't know this and so the oblivious journey begins for escape, even as the devouring question of identity crumbles Yosten's sanity. Soraka struggles to fix the ship before it crashes smack bang into Neptune and kills them both leaving their history worthless, a gamble neither needed or wanted to do, all while the cities and nations flourish and the corporations rule. New London rules all Mankind while the many who flee homes and struggle to survive are a constant cycle of the greed and repeating collapse of desperate life and survival. Yosten and Soraka may face the same but they do not know if they are the same.

17 parts Complete Mature

It's so lonely here on this big romantic island, in this alien moon colony that I own. With my wife away all week, and my job as an Overlord stressing me out, there's just no time for romance. Fortunately I'm a hive-mind and my former body was male, and HOT. Wouldn't hurt anything to just...have a drink with my cloned self. Passions unfold in this totally dead serious and not at all blatantly satirical story, of sarcastic romance and self-love, where me and other me with a beard, split hairs on the definitions of what having "an affair" even means. Is it even cheating if it's you on you? Maybe, but what our cloned wife doesn't know, won't hurt them. An affair turns to a coverup, and a series of murders to bury the situation. Every step closer to myself, takes me closer to a prison sentence, as things become harder to hide, and suspicious turn to theories. What on Odin's green moon have I done, and do I really want to stop now? It's just starting to get fun.
