District 9

(This was originally a short entry for the IGHG I'm currently entered in; but coincidentally I got lots of positive feedback and I really wanted to share it)

Azalea Davis is a typical girl, from the not so famous district of Panem. All her life she has been under the watchful & protective eyes of her 3 elder brother. At the age of 17 her name is pulled in sacrifice of their debt to their nation and she looses her precious safety blanket of her brutish brothers. She knew there was a possibility of her name being pulled; but she never expected Gray to be her fellow tribute in the games that would ruin their lives forever.

Gray Sommers is a typical boy, from the not so famous district. He expected his name to be pulled after the 30 or so times his name was in the reaping. Hell. He hoped for it. He was still trying not to beat everyone around him into a bloody pulp after her name was called. Azalea. He has been best friends with her older brothers since they were in diapers. He would volunteer if any other name besides his was pulled. He promised her brothers that he would keep her safe. He would keep her safe at the expense of his own life.
