It’s the first day back at school since I met Nicholas. Nicholas is a waiter at IHop, which I visited in the early morning hours of Black Friday. He was pretty funny so we left him a $20 tip and we left him some notes. One of them had Olivia's twitter handle and the other had my number on it. Anyways… it’s Monday and I know Nick goes to my school because I’ve seen him around. He's been on my mind since Friday morning. I know it's crazy but he was really cool.

[Later in the day]

I was talking to Rosie as we walked to the buses, and that’s when I saw a spike
of chestnut brown hair. I just knew it was him. I coached myself into walking over to him at a cool, slow pace. No way was I going to blow it before I even said hello! As I got closer, I worked up he nerve to say "hello". He looked at me in an odd way; I could tell he knew my face. He said "hello" back and at the exact same time we both began to say "Aren't you the one from IHop?" but I didn't make it through the whole thing before I responded with a nod. His eyes were such a pretty shade of brown, like the color of maple syrup. We started laughing and that’s when Dereck, a guy that knows Nick came over pointing at me and said "Hey! IHop girl!" all I did was nod before I realized that I wasn't going to make it on the bus if I didn't go now. It stunk but I had to leave them or else I wouldn't have a ride home. I think Nicholas knew what was up; he offered to give me a ride home as I was starting to walk quickly down the hallway. I spoke before I could even process what I was saying, I told him that I would love a ride. I'm not going to go into full detail, but it was the best car ride ever.
