Towards the end of the twenty first century, humanity had become unsustainable. Famines worsened, disease spread far and wide, and wars over diminishing resources enveloped the world. Our world was slowly dying, yet humanity showed no signs of slowing. When there appeared to be no solution, a group of extremists who called themselves the Children of Gaia threatened to act if world leaders did not. When our leaders dismissed them as a hoax, they condemned us all. A virus spread across the world and claimed the lives of millions before humanity seemingly developed a natural immunity. It wasn't until years later that the true nature of the virus was discovered. But by then, it was too late. The Children of Gaia had unleashed a virus which lived within us all. One that meant we would never live to see over the ag of thirty-five. That was over one hundred years ago. In the wake of the devastation a new government rose and built Arcadia, a nation where every individual was given purpose. Most important of all, we were dedicated to finding the cure. At least, that's what Areida was raised to believe. Living in Arcadia her entire life, she has followed the laws set down generations ago which have ensured the survival of humanity. But when the scientist who tells Areida she's in danger goes missing, and a mysterious stranger claims to have been sent to protect her, Areida doesn't know who or what to believe. As her life starts to unravel, Areida learns that things aren't as they appear. There are still those faithful to the Children of Gaia and they'll do anything they can to stop humanity from finding a cure, but are they the only ones? Areida isn't sure who she can trust; the only thing she knows is that there are always two sides to history - and both are willing to kill to protect their own.Tüm hakları saklıdır
