Max Lightwood-Bane's greatest wish is to join the Shadowhunter Academy. The only problem: The Academy is for Shadowhunters, not for warlocks like him. Max's fellow-students make it clear to him that he is not welcome in their realm. But then something happens that puts the whole Academy in danger. Something only a warlock can cope with.
