Naruto is a girl and Minato is alive but Kushina is dead. Naruto was a smart girl and was a ball of sunshine too. She was the daughter of Yondaime and is being kept in the mountains for her safety. She understood because she was smart and because her father loved her very much. Her father would go home every week to spend time with her. The Anbu guards her very well and also plays with her. They also train her as the Hokage required. She did not complain she loves learning and reading. She was smarter than Shikamaru Nara.
Btw, The Uchiha massacre happened but differently.
