In a isolated town during the winter the citizens one by one beggan to die from a strange disease and a young medical practitioner tries to find the secret behind this events that started when an young woman died in their village two years before. During his research he will meet a mysterious man who will offer him the only solution to save his people from the hands of his powerful enemies. But first he must travel east in cultures and civilizations that he never imagined that he will be able to see ... Historical Facts that inspired the story The number of Jews murdered in pogroms in European cities during the outbreak of the Black Death in the mid-14th century is estimated in thousands as they accused them for the disease. Current scholarly estimates of the number of people who were executed for witchcraft vary from about 40,000 to 100,000. The largest death toll had been in the early 1600s when an estimated 1,730,000 people died due to plague in Italy. This was almost 14% of the population. (The names and places of the story is fictional.)
