At an extremely young age, Luzi manifested as a Shade. A powerful Shade, her mother Darine had said. 
She was to train everyday with her mother. Every. Day. At age 13, Darine finally says she's ready to work with shadowflux, a rare element. When her friends find out she's practicing with shadowflux, they start to fear Luzi. Start to avoid her. Start to hate her. 

Luzi doesn't want to control shadowflux like her mother anymore. She wants to be a normal, happy girl. She hates shadowflux, refuses to practice with it anymore. But after something happens in Exile, Luzi realises that shadowflux might be the only way to protect the people she cares about.

It was time to show the world she was just as powerful as her mother said. And the only way to do that is to join the Neverseen.
