Laia did it, she conquered the world. Using her undead army, every enemy defeated joined her ranks. As far as she knows all living things in the world have perished.
A hundred years after her conquest, she is alive because of her magic and has spent all her time with the undead.
Nothing changes, nothing is new. She finds herself laying about, sleeping more yet finding it hard to sleep. Something has taken root in her, a feeling of emptiness.
A family has been on the run for their whole lives, a father, who had lost his own parents to the undead horde, a mother unable to speak, a daughter who cannot control her curiosity and emotions and a son who wants to be a hero of old.
During an attack from the undead, the family is saved by unexpected individual, a skeleton steps in to protect the family. Their lives saved, the skeleton once more does the unthinkable, it brings them to person who caused all their pain and sorrow, the witch.
