Alyssa Marie Martin is an ordinary girl. Well, if you consider having one arm and being a mermaid ordinary. Alyssa has struggled with having one arm and being a mermaid since she was 16. She has never told anyone about it though, especially her one arm.

What happens when Alyssa moves to the Gold Coast in Australia and meets Rikki, Emma, Cleo, Bella, Lewis, Zane, Ash, and Will? Will they make feel like she belongs in the world? Will Alyssa have finally have friends? Or will they tear her feelings apart?
