After a failed suicide attempt last summer, drug addict Maia Blake returns to school and is forced by her abusive mother and violent stepfather to continue attending support groups for mentally ill adolescents.
This is were she meets Kyle Peterson, who despite his well known existence hides several secrets from the world. He brings love, but also chaos and drugs into Maia's life.
But will Maia be able to ever love someone? Will Kyle truly love her and save her when she doesn't have the will to live anymore?
