This is a version of the "Sherlock Holmes" series of novels by Arthur Conan Doyle. It is based off his books AND the BBC television show Sherlock. This is not a fan fiction of the show, however the idea was based off it, along with the books. It takes place in today's time:

Helena Watson has a pair of missing parents. With the help of Sherlock Holmes, her lifetime idol, who has mysteriously come back from the dead, Watson battles through mystery, breakups, and true love. Are her parents even still alive? Is it possible that her old love life could act up again? And most importantly, who is behind the massive restoration of the worlds greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes? Want to find out? Sherlock immediately notices your contacts and gets more intrigued when you forbid him from looking into it or your past. Intrigued by you, he pulls you along for murder mysteries. John dies and Sherlock blames himself, so much so that the guilt begins to affect his life. However, he keeps getting dreams of John talking to him and assuring him that he's not dead. Eventually Sherlock doesn't seem to know reality from dreams and everyone around thinks he's crazier than usual. As it is, Sherlock was in coma for awhile and John, very much alive, had been by his bedside constantly and talking to him in hopes he wakes up. Inspired by my favorite Futurama episode.
