Luke has a hard life at home, which makes it hard for him to concentrate on school. When his algebra teacher sees that his grade has fallen to below an F, he gets a tutor named Celeste assigned to him. Celeste has a nice home life and plenty of time to help someone out. But Luke has no time for a tutor and no intention to let her know anything about him. His teacher persists, and soon he has an appointment to start being tutored. Celeste tries to get him to pay attention to her instead of just blankly staring, but he doesn't want to. He hates being tutored almost as much as he hates his life. Celeste, being the sweet girl she is, silently worries about this mystery boy she is assigned to tutor. How will she help him if he makes no effort to be helped?
