She's gone through her whole life following the rules and doing what she's told, but will it all be worth it in the end? Luz Noceda is the opposite of perfect. She's an outcast who's seen as awkward and weird by her peers, and her only friends are the characters she reads about. It isn't easy being one of the only openly queer kids in her school. All she wants is someone to understand and love her for who she is, but will that ever happen? Four years had passed since the death of Manny Noceda. Their mom, Camila, was struggling to get by, never home and constantly in and out of the hospital taking up shifts, the youngest daughter, Luz, was barely ever able to keep out of trouble at school and struggled to fit in, and the oldest, Lucía, was in constant arguments with her mom until she finally packed up all of her things in the night and ran away from home six months ago. The only thing left behind was a letter with the words "I'm making this house worse and worse" written in it. Now, Luz attending a "Reality Check Summer Camp" was supposed to make everything better, everything normal. But after running off that bus to camp to chase after her one prized possession, her Good Witch Azura book, one thing led to another and now she had ended up in some old, isolated, and hidden town named the "Boiling Isles." Everything had changed since the death of their papá. Balancing guilt, trying to conform, broken relationships, and more, it felt impossible. There were lies, secrets, and entire lives hidden from one another, and it was only a matter of time before something or someone finally unraveled it all. "I'll never be good enough for you," she said.

Luz has to attend Hexside High, a prestigious boarding school in Bonesborough. Luz has always had a thing for music and money, so she decides to create a band since she has to be stuck there. Amity Blight goes to Hexside High, she is the next to own her family's multimillion business. although she has always had more of a liking to singing then creating home defense systems. she has a secret not many know about, besides her siblings of course. and she accidentally flirts with none other than the new student. human band AU. contains; sexual context, alcoholic beverages, smoking, and cursing. Striking a deal with the devil probably wasn't smart... When Hexside High School's newest transfer student, Luz Noceda, runs into trouble on her first day at a new school, she does the best thing she can think of; Make a bet. All Luz has to do is beat Amity Blight's score on the semester exams. Amity just happens to be the top student. And exams are in a week.
