Newt finds Credence after the Aurors blasted apart the Obscurus (yes, it's one of those fics), and Credence is having a bit of a hard time with the transition, so to speak.

Credence has never stayed with such nice people, or seen magic used in such a mundane and harmless way. Or had someone believe him when he told them he's not a girl. It can't be real, can it? That potion that Newt talks about-the one that can change your body... how is that even possible? That Newt is so unfailingly kind and understanding-he has to want something from Credence, right? ...Right?
