HYDRA struggles to break the Winter Soldier through traditional means. Torture is seemingly ineffective...But Bucky Barnes is losing hope and quickly.
Anna Sokolov is using HYDRA. The American nurse is bent on revenge and wants nothing more than for HYDRA to carry out their mission so that her husband's killers can be dealt with. The process is slow, but, she will carry out her mission.
But, when she meets the American POW - a broken, tortured man name James Barnes - she makes her first mistake...
She chooses to be kind to the Winter Soldier.
