A man is known by his name. What if one day it is snatched from you, and you are termed a con man in your own house. Will you accept it or fight for your identity?
This story is inspired from a true and famous case of Bawal Sanyasi which has been made into movies too.
This is my take on the story..

Fulfillment of needs without entanglement of emotions or feelings is what he goes for. He has a slightly complicated relationship with his mother and his family which is very clannish. He is protective about family but not blind to their faults. Despite being born with a silver spoon he has had to lead his life not on his terms but on his family's. Not settling down and continuing to womanise is his way of rebelling against his mother and family. Shehnaaz Siddiqui is a young adult, a Kashmiri Muslim by birth and an orphan. She has been brought up by parents' Hindu family friends after they died in a car crash. However, there has been a gradual estrangement between them. She is under no illusion that she truly is alone in this world and has no one she can depend on. She struggles with a fragile mental health and anxiety because of which she is under medication. She is a student and tries to put up a strong exterior with an 'I-give-a-fuck' attitude but in reality is vulnerable and subconsciously looking for love, security and acceptance. She is spiritual but not religious. However, she never shies away from her identity as a young progressive Muslim woman. Her adoptive family is also a rich upper class business family and acquaintances of the Shuklas. Circumstances bring Sidharth and Shehnaaz together creating an explosion in each other's lives. She sat looking at the big mirror blushing and thinking about her groom, she didn't even know his name. She eagerly waited for him to come and take her with him to his home, to their home. She was thinking what he would say, what his voice sounded like, what he would call her and how would she react to his actions. The things which she had never imagined in her life about marriage, home, romance, relationship etc., she was thinking about it all today. She hears the door open and she closes her eyes, her head bowed down, cheeks blushed while her chest heaved up and down due to heavy breathing. She hears a voice talking to her from a bit far. She had her back to him. "Hi, Thanks a lot. If you hadn't come, then I would have been on the streets. You really did a good job. The director was impressed with your improvisation though the role was small." She was confused, what is her groom speaking about. She opens her eyes and turns around to see him. Her face falls, it was not her husband. He hands an envelope to her and thanks her before he leaves. She takes the envelope still confused. She thinks - Oh! This must be a wedding gift from his friend. But what was he speaking about, I couldn't understand anything ... Marriage was not on her list but when it happened, it happened in a strange way. Read the book to understand how is this a strange marriage and how would this ever work. *Fictional story Was listed at #1 under SidNaaz on 21st Jan, 2021.. happiest day!!
