Since a young age, Avaline has been running off into the forest of the kingdom to visit a pond and also a hawk that's conveniently always there watching her. Striking a deal with her father to save her little sister from any more abuse, she has to leave for two years when she turns 18 to the devil kingdom, Delaviir.
Years later though she comes back rebuilt and stronger than she could've imagined, but being in a hardcore training camp for the Fae can do that to you.
She finally gets to be closer with her family and even gets to know her favorite hawk even more until he shifts out of his animal form for the first time leaving Avaline speechless. Things get heated, people fall in love, and a war needs to be prevented.
