The Antidote.

Prologue.

I remember how terrifyingly naive, shy, and introverted I was as child. I never chose to get that way. It's just that, loneness and seclusion didn't scare me. On the contrary, silence actually brought me peace. As I grew older, it was inevitable for me to think about what, or how I would react when that silence was disturbed. Although, as an only child with workaholic parents, I can say that quietness surrounded me. Almost constantly.

Now, as I stand in the spacious Sparks Laboratory, I can't help but feel agitated. From the chaos surrounding me. From the ear shrilling screams piercing the air. It's like a thousands of ants are crawling all over my flesh, my hands itching and swatting at them to get off with no avail.

The Fluorescent lights singe my skin, as the cool mid summer breeze flutters the wispy strands of
my raven hair around. The blood dripping from the cool metal knife placed in my hand. The red liquid staining pieces grass, and filling the immediate vicinity with a tangy, copper stench.

And yet, all I can do as I stand shivering in my now drenched uniform, is stare. My gaze stays transfixed on the treasured Chemist Dr. Maxwell writhing on the ground, clutching his torso, like a squeamish worm. The sight is almost amusing. Almost.

Truthfully, the reason why I still remain staring at him, is because the painful screeches escaping his mouth drown out all of my surroundings. All of my senses, and flooding my self control. I clutch the worn paper in an unruly grip within my hands, and raise it towards the fire.

I scrunch up the think, wriggled, cream coloured paper and watch it spark to flames. Consumed by the embers of the fie, the secrets it holds melts away. Secrets that could destroy Humanity.
