Dove Beckett has one mission in life: staying unnoticed. After getting separated from her family seven years ago, the young witch has put all her energy into avoiding drawing attention and posing as a regular human.

After decades of being preyed upon for their valuable blood, witches are a disappearing species. The remaining witches live in highly secretive groups, and the odds of a lone witch making it are slim to none.

Dove's luck in staying out of radar turns one night when she is caught by a group of vampire hunters. Tossed as a snack for a captive vampire, she just barely manages to escape with an enticed vampire at her heels.

Kieran McCarthy has been looking for witches for years and can't believe his luck when one is practically dropped on his lap, although it seems to disappear as quickly as it appeared.

Kieran sets out to catch the rogue witch before the other hunters of the night catch her. His reason for the hunt is, however, not bloodlust. He needs one for their powers. But the delicate, young witch with a bad attitude is far from what he had been expecting.
