In the isolated nation of Eglaria, the tyrannical dictator, Emperor Giovanni, keeps his people grateful for his rule and in check at all times by assigning them a slave the day they turn 16. The slave is decided by a nationwide lottery excluding family members and the ruling elite. Said lottery is rigged to enslave lower classes and those with less loyalty to the state 10 times more than others. But as they say, one always finds his destiny on the path to avoid it, and when 16-year-old Ezra Briggs is 'gifted' 14-year-old Luke Smith, the Fates turn their backs on the evil tyrant and smile towards a new generation. Read on as these two friends tear down divisions and with the help of the Socialist Union, catalyze the revolution and bring in a new age, an age of goodness, love, and equality.
