1 part Ongoing What is a "normal kid"?
You wouldn't know. You don't know. So you wonder, what makes someone normal? If you look it up, the Japanese dictionary defines "normal" as something common, something that can be found anywhere, anytime, without any special characteristics that set it apart. But does this apply to people? Is normalcy a matter of probabilities or familiarity? I our society, are quirks part of individuality or a commune trait?
It's always difficult to come to a concrete conclusion when all you have are vague terms that can't be applied in every situation. Everything is too easy to bend and distort. Everything is too relative.
No matter how hard one works, there's always another breaking the limits. If some things may seen unique, there will be someone who views it as bleak. It's like no one can ever agree on anything, and you hate it.
People are relative, just like everything else. Any claim, no matter how strong or weak, can be challenged. Any action can be seen as good or bad, depending on how it's presented. That's the philosophy that has both led you forward and become the bane of your existence.
That being so, because this awfully vague concept seems to have engraved itself in your life, every aspect influenced by this invisible rule.
Since childhood, you've been seen as ordinary by some, exceptional by others. Your family disregarded you yet teachers marveled at your intellect, and you thrived on comparisons. Compared to other kids, you were mature. Compared to the average child, you were a genius. Compared to everyone else, you seemed destined for success. But what did it really bring you?
Perhaps the sentiment that you were invincible- until you weren't. Praises and adoration trampled by voices that rang louder than your own. A search for an approbation that was misplaced from the beginning. An overachiever that held no more than titles to display.
