It has been 4 years since Rei had defeated Cynthia and became champion of the Sinnoh region. Him and his friend Xander both travel back in time by Arceus themselves. They went back in time to a familiar land but drastic different.
Landing at the beach near jubilife Village. Now their goal is to complete the Region's first Pokedex and hopefully find a way back to their own time. But more matters lie in the fate of the region. A massive time-space rift has opened up above Mount Coronet and it's up to our heroes to find a way to close it.

Right after she gained her eighth Gym badge in Unova, she had an urge to visit her home region of Kanto and her friends who live there. After visiting with her family and friends in Pallet Town, she headed to Cerulean Cape to visit Bill, who started up Crystal's PC Pokémon storage system. Bill was in the middle of an experiment and Crystal offers to help, which brings her the ability of a Ditto: the ability to change into any Pokémon. That is, with practice.
