To the naked eye, Kayla Dyer's life had seemed perfect. She was the rich girl everyone loved, the beauty who dated a football player, with a queen bee best friend, what else could anyone want in such a life? She had stumbled across a magic store that had suddenly appeared in the town that had been full of people bias against it, despite the store somehow standing. She entered it, knowing already her parent's anger, meeting Hazel, a girl who had been helping her aunt running the store. When the two meet, Kayla soon realizes why her parents had banished all signs of magic in her life.
