Nella Tanson and Canada Grey are at opposite ends of their world. And their world is the Polytechnic. A battle academy designed to push the best and brightest of the new generation. Cadets are completely isolated from the chaotic outside world and taught to fight, hack, lie, and manipulate. They're separated into Nine Sectors (each with three individual Brigades. Except for the Ninth of course, Y and Z are on their own). When Nella is removed from her comfortable position in the Q Brigade and forced to work alongside Canada in C, the two become the best warriors in the academy. Nella, calm and skilled but reeling from a dangerous (and redacted) incident that left her separate from the rest of her peers, and Canada, cold and brilliant and ostracized by everyone she's ever known. They're quite a team. But unbeknownst to the young women, two mysterious forces are pushing them together, aware that they might be the only hope of saving, quite frankly, everything.
