He's also an orphan, and he's been bouncing around foster homes since he was about 11. In all of them, he's been abused, one way or another. He's been in about 7 different homes by now, and his current one doesn't seeeem so bad. But you never know. He's 14, and and has been jumped ahead a few years in school. He will face many struggles along the way, but he will rise up above them to take his shot. And one day, he will blow us all away. Note: There is swearing, talk of abuse and suicide, some abuse (not a lot! only a LITTLE), and some school-level fighting so basically maybe just a fist fight or two. Alexander Hamilton has not had an easy life. After his parents died, he bounced from foster home to foster home in Nevis, each one giving up on him and claiming that he was "too difficult to deal with." After being thrown out of his seventh foster home, he gets adopted by an American couple named George and Martha Washington. George and Martha are incredibly kind and willing to do anything for Alex, but Alex finds it difficult to trust them. He worries that they will become angry with him and throw him out the way the rest of his foster parents did. He finds himself growing more and more depressed and angry, and nothing the Washingtons do can make him feel better. Alex finds himself desparate for acceptance, and ends up in a tumultuous friendship with none other than John Laurens, a gay boy rebelling against his homophobic parents.
