The story begins with William Afton, a talented engineer and co-founder of a restaurant chain that features animatronic characters. William met Clara, a kind and supportive woman who later became his wife. The couple got married and settled down, starting a family together. They had three children: Michael, the eldest, who grew up trying to live up to his father's expectations; Chris (often referred to as the "Crying Child" by fans), the sensitive middle child who had a deep fear of the animatronics; and Elizabeth, the youngest, who shared her father's fascination with the animatronics but lacked an understanding of their dangers. As the Afton children grew up, the family dynamic became increasingly strained. William's obsession with his work and the darker side of his ambitions began to cast a shadow over the family, leading to tragic events that would ultimately shape their fates.
