A group of six high school nobodies spend their day in a library. but they discover a part of the library that.. they've never seen before. one bookshelf. thousands of books that reached the ceiling. it looked ancient. but.. there was something strange about this bookshelf..
the books were nameless, and full of empty pages. but that's not all.

He grabbed the book off the shelf. a cold air hit his face. he slowly opened the book. the empty pages drew him in. the pages echoed a gold glow against his face. his hands became clammy. he slowly points his finger, and places it down onto the blank white paper. he looks up and.

the sun shines on his face, making his vision blurry. he hears birds chirping. he can smell the sap from the trees. he can hear the leaves rustling. he looks down as he blinks. his vision became clear and...
grass.
"Yo Kylo, what are you doing in there?"
he drops the book. the room goes back to the dusty atmosphere. the bookshelf, and the nameless books surround him again.

"what just happened."

"Are you ever afraid of being alone?" I asked after a while. A question that had randomly popped into my mind. I wasn't expecting him to answer me, but he did. Jonah turned his face, but I didn't look back at him, I kept staring up at the skies. He turned back to the sky and took a breather before answering. "We're always going to be alone, Rose. Always. We'll be haunted by the darkness that is our own shadow, but in every shadow there's a light." He answered, as if the simplest thing in the world. I only stared at him with a dropped jaw. That was out of this world. Especially coming from Jonah. "When does it get better?" I mumbled. "It doesn't. But to go through it with someone makes it a whole lot easier." He turned back to face me. We stared at each other for a while. He'd always occasionally look down at my lips, and I'd do the same to him. I broke it off and looked back up at the sky. -=- New York City. The place of opportunities. But what shall Rose do when there's so many of them? Jonah, the seducer with a British accent, or Cameron, equally British but sweet. Her clock is ticking. She has one year to make up her mind until the exchange program takes back all their Brits and their New Yorkers return. And so the end-of-the-year party is the final strike. Either Rose chooses...or she doesn't. *WARNING* I began this book (my first book ever) when I was like 11 or 12 years old so the first chapters (idk how many) suck, not gonna lie. I had scrapped so many ideas (that I only really wrote a few chapters of) that when I was older enough to realize the story I had going so far sucked, I didn't want to scrap again, so I finished for that sake in a span of 3 years (and ended in 2014). All in all, not my greatest work, but read on if you wish. Text Copyright © droppedintoxic™ 2014

NONE OF THE CHAPTERS IN THIS BOOK ARE PG-13! The settings for this book went psycho, but I promise you, this book is clean. I stared in amazement and horror, and then realized that the person-which, as I looked at him, was a boy-was extending his hand to lift me up. I took it thankfully. When I stood up, the world tipped to the left, and I stumbled. The boy caught me with strong hands. I looked at him and finally was able to look in on his features. The boy was only about 13 or 14. He had a shock of freckles, and a pointy nose, with rosy cheeks, and a mane of curly black hair. He had this quirky smile on his face, and his eyes glinted with mischief. He was dressed in a smithy outfit, complete with a tool belt, which had nothing in it. He also had some sturdy black boots. "You alright?" His voice was kind of squeaky, like he was just getting through puberty, right in the middle of high and low. "I'm fine," I replied, though he raised one of his eyebrows, pretty sure I was lying. I was of course. My favorite band had just turned into a couple of ugly, unearthly mermaids! My hands and legs trembled, and I almost fell over. I managed to stand, and asked, "What were those?" "Sirens. Probably why all the people in this room are asleep!" He grinned, like this was some kind of joke. I was not laughing. "Who are you?" I asked, not really wanting an answer, but it felt good to talk. "Oh! My apologies." He said it with a great bow. "Leo Valdez, engineer extraordinaire, son of Hephaestus." Edit: Thank you guys so much for all the awesome comments and for helping me reach over 25k reads! It is really a dream-come-true for me, I am so grateful for all your support.
