Jun is seven years old. Tears roll down their cheeks as a doctor with a mean voice tells them that they should give up hope on their Quirk. An even meaner voice in Jun's head says that maybe they should give up hope on life, too.
Jun is nine years old. Their mother shields them with her body as a man with an angry heart uses the power he was blessed with to tear her to pieces. Jun feels the exact moment that she goes limp over top of them.
Jun is eleven years old. They watch with dull eyes as Akiko-san pours sour milk on their bookbag. Their father will have to wash it (again) tonight.
Jun is twelve years old. They start junior high with low hopes and even lower spirits. It seems a green-haired boy who always sits alone has started that way, too. He seems nice. Jun wonders what he's done to deserve the harsh looks he gets. (Probably nothing.)
Jun sits with him.

Shouta Aizawa takes notice to how his best friend, Hizashi Yamada, seems to be struggling with his past recently. Shortly after he finds out and attempts to grow closer to him like they had been in the past, Hizashi mysteriously disappears without a trace.
