Rebecca Allen's life has always been painful. When she was 14 her mother was murdered in front of her. Then, her and her younger brother Barry moved in with Joe West. She fell into a depression and started committing crimes.  Finally, after high school her life seemed to turn around. She went to MIT and got a degree in engineering and went to work for Harrison Wells at Star Labs. All of a sudden, her world changed. The night of the particle accelerator explosion her brother was struck by lightning and was in a coma for 9 months. He wakes up with the ability to run faster than the speed of sound.
