Hiya! This is a little story that's been banging around in my skull for a while, I've also been wanting to write a story in an Edgar Allen Poe style for a while! So, here's a tale of two cards... uh, enjoy....

When I was little, my mother used to tell me stories about an ancient world that contained mystical and strange creatures -created by the gods it was supposed to divide the humans and the creatures. Her stories were mostly about brave Guardians that had the obligation of protecting the other world. This world was to be called the Portal World. As I grew up in difficult conditions I dismissed all those ideas out of my head. Tales are for children and nothing of it was true. Or so I thought. Until the day the guy I hated the most saved me from imminent death. *** Deep in my being an unbearable anger scattered itself through my body. I clenched my fists. A violent jerk started building up to my vocal cords. I gritted my teeth to keep it under control but in vain my lips began to move. "My life is not an Illusion!" The small crowd still gathered inside the café went silent as they all turned to see what was happening. I bit my lip in embarrassment. Jack slowly turned around and instantly met my eyes. "You'd be surprised", he stated with a disturbing twinkle in his eyes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you for stopping at this book. Touch of Innocence
This story is the sequel to my previous story "King of the Vamps". It would be beneficial to read that story first as you will be introduced to some characters and certain plot points! Clayton, the son of revered King Ulric and Queen Amaryllis has reached the age to find his mate. The day he tracked her scent, he expected to find a gorgeous vampire attached to the scent. However, a small human child stood in place of his expectations. He felt an intense need to protect the little girl and to love and provide for her as an older brother would for their younger sister. "What is it about you, Kira?" Oliver asked, more to himself than me, in a whisper. I could hardly breathe with him being so close and my heart was pounding almost painfully hard. "I don't know what you mean." I answered in an out of breathe manner, though I believed he was feeling the same as me. I wished I didn't have these crazy attraction and affectionate feelings for him, but I did; there was no controlling them, so I supposed I was just in for a long ride, one that would certainly lead to heartbreak. However, just because I knew the inevitable, I wasn't going to fight how I felt about him. ---------------------------------------------------------- Love may be rough for most people, but it's even harder when you fall for someone you can never be with. Kira is a 16 year old human slave that has been living with a vampire named Sam for many years. When a war breaks out and Sam is sent to a vampire clan on the other side of the continent, Kira is forced to move in with Sam's older brother Oliver. Oliver is the leader of the vampires of the Ibitario Clan. He's powerful and gorgeous, but more importantly, he's cruel and heartless. Ofelia believed that her father left her behind to die the day the Shadow Knights invaded her home. She remembered thinking that it was her end, but it wasn't due to the Shadow Knight's kindness to bring her in sympathetically. They too had experienced similar betrayal to Ofelia and that's why she's one them. Her main goal is to get the Shadow Lord to the top of world and to kill her father. That's all there is to it. But's that not the way it was supposed to be. Ofelia finds her home, destroyed and revisits her house and finds her diary, a scrapbook, and a bracelet, all of which will guide her down a path that she closed off and forgot about. It also leaves her to question everything she's ever thought and ever done when the truth finally reveals itself.
