He sort of does a double take and his eyes widen as he looks back up at me. "Is this seat taken?'' I ask with a small smile. Blue eyes elbows the other two and they look up at me, one with wide eyes and the other with a stone cold glare. "Is she talking to us?" The green eyed mumbles, his wide eyes not leaving me. I was just laying down on my bed, cuddled up with a book, when I heard a faint creak on the stairs. The sound was muffled seeing as the door was shut, but I heard it nevertheless. My eyes wandered to the door and I tried to be as silent as possible in my attempt to locate another sound. My body was tense, but relaxed when I didn't hear another noise. It's probably just my imagination, I thought. My paranoia was probably just getting the best of me since I was home alone. I heard the stairs creak again however and I heard... Footsteps. I put my book down slowly and got off my bed as quietly as I could. Yes, those were definitely footsteps. I opened my door slowly, trying to be as silent as possible.
