"So let me get this straight, you indirectly insulted a Lord who fancied you..."

"Believe me he was practically begging for it." She pointed out.

"He continued, "...he retaliated with a stupid joke..."

"Same thing I said." Finally someone who sees it.

"...and you responded with an even stupider solution..."

"I'm not to blame here, I have a bad way of coping with embarrassment."

"...which is lying to a hall filled with people about having a secret admirer named Vincent instead of owning up to your mistake."

"I'm starting to sense an hostile situation here." She took a defensive step back.

"Oh and this is the best part," he laughed sarcastically, "you think the best solution is to bring me into this Charade of yours and play the role of your fake admirer who is courting you till you seek otherwise - I hope I'm not missing anything here." He glared at her.

Lady Brianna Camden was a beauty to behold no doubt, of reserved nature-well.., with sophisticated grace - excruciatingly less emphasis on the sophisticated, with the heart of Gold - if we are to tell a joke - and amongst her other lovely qualities are her lack of patience, indecisiveness and her bad way of coping with embarrassment and that was to Lie, Lie and just keep on lying.

After what looked like a proposal gone wrong she turned to the only one she knew would save her, a particular Lord Vincent who apparently could care less about her.
